Ocean Village
Southampton
Situated in the heart of Southampton, and the shelter of the Southampton Water, Ocean Village is one of the most attractive marinas on the South Coast offering both luxury residential development and leisure facilities.
The basin, formerly used for commercial vessels including banana boats, is deep enough to offer mooring for tall ships and super yachts. The marina provides quick and easy access to the World famous Solent cruising ground and as such Banana Wharf is a perfect venue to enjoy waterside dining or just a drink!

Tripadvisor Reviews
“Nice Restaurant in Southampton Marina”
I've visited banana wharf on several occasions and have never had cause to complain! It can get quite busy so would suggest making a reservation just in case but we've always managed to get a table eventually when we've just turned up! Food variety is good with lots to choose from and it's always been good! The also do lovely pancakes but can only recommend the strawberry one as never got past that one in the menu! The Restuarant is right on the marina so nice view of boats! Good atmosphere at night!
“Great Food”
Been here 3 times now. Booked once and the other two walked in and got a table right away. Each and every time I've been the food has been brilliant. When delivered to the table my first thought is always that the portion looks too small but the dishes they use are deceiving. The cheeses garlic bread is the best I've ever had! The staff are all very friendly and seem to make a genuine effort when serving. Stayed for a few drinks after our last meal and the bar area is very vibrant with a wide selection. The food prices were fantastic but I did think the drink prices were a little steep.
“Nice Family Lunch”
Came her for a bank holiday lunch. Food was very good and freshly cooked. Pretty good value, some dishes are a bit pricey though. Service is a bit questionable but overall ok.
Good atmosphere and great location by the water. We all enjoyed it here and will be back.
“Fantastic Breakfast”
Top place to eat. I ate here just before we went on Sunseeker Experience (see my other reviews) and the breakfast was superb and fairly priced.
“Great View and Great Location”
We have eaten here twice recently and both times were excellent. Whether sitting out in the sun, which was glorious, or sat inside the experience was great. Great food and nothing too much trouble. They catered happily for my diet of no wheat or dairy and the children could have a half portion of anything. The mussels in tomato sauce were to die for. Will definitely be returning.
“WOW What a Breakfast...”
Having sailed on a few cruise ships from time to time you get used to the regular buffet breakfast. Some places it can be the temperature of the food that indicates it is a buffet however when we popped here to meet some friends of a cruise you would not even believe it was a buffet. The food quality was amazing - tasty sausages, bacon, eggs (scrambled on buffet, but poached and fried also on offer), mushrooms, hash browns and tomatoes.
Note Buffet is not served every day of the week and from memory is just Saturday/Sunday
When we ordered we were advised on what was on the buffet but also if we wanted any other eggs varieties. Once the orders was in orange juice was served along with cultery to the people having slightly different eggs. For those that didn't have special eggs had to approach the buffet for cutlery.
When we did get to the buffet the beans where low, as some one in our group noted the beans being refilled on the buffet one of our group started to get up to get some and literally out of nowhere came a member of staff came with a bowl specifically for us - what customer service.
All the staff were really friendly and very approachable and based on this we will visit again when ever we stay over to get on a cruise much better alternative to some of the establishments in the area and not that far away from the cruise terminals - although a bit hidden at the moment due to appartments being built close by.
Seating was excellent and we sat outside overlooking the marina on a beauty bank holiday weekend in the sun - a perfect welcome back to the UK for some of the travellers in our party.
